Protected tree work is public before it is booked

Tree work is the one trade where the register comes close to a complete job list. Work on a tree covered by a preservation order needs council consent before a saw touches it. Work on most trees of size in a conservation area needs six weeks' notice. Both are published, with the address and the work proposed.
The descriptions are specific. "Fell one sycamore." "Crown reduce by 2m." "Pollard two limes." You can read a week of them for your area and know which properties have consented work and roughly what it is worth.
Conservation area notices are worth watching closely. The council has six weeks to object and most do not. A notice that has run its course is work the owner is free to book.
These sit under the trees category and carry the usual timeline, so you can see how long your council takes. Conditions attached to a scheme often require replacement planting, which is a second job at the same address.
