By using PlanIndex you accept these terms. They are meant to be reasonable and readable rather than exhaustive.

What the data is

We index planning records published by councils and made available through open data sources. We show them in good faith and record where each came from. We do not guarantee that a record is complete, current or free of upstream error. Councils publish on their own timetables, and our copy can lag or differ.

For anything that matters, treat the council's own planning portal as the authoritative record and check there. Nothing here is legal or planning advice. If you are making a decision that turns on the detail of an application, confirm it with the council or a professional.

Using the site

You may read, link to and quote our pages, including the plain text figures blocks on council hubs. You may not scrape the site at scale, resell the data as a bulk feed, or use it to contact applicants for marketing. Bulk or automated access beyond normal browsing needs our agreement first.

Alerts and payment

The free tier watches one area. Paid plans add more areas and features, and are billed monthly or yearly through our payment provider. Tax is shown at checkout. You can change or cancel a plan from your account. If you cancel, your plan runs until the end of the period you have paid for and then drops to the free tier. We do not give partial refunds for a period already started unless the law requires it.

Liability

We provide the service as it is and cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on a record, a missed or delayed alert, or a period when the site is unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service grows. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant and you hold an account, we will tell you by email.
