Dead oak tree, easily recognisable visually. Network Rail was contacted by a resident living near the tree. We had carried out site inspection with our vegetation contractor and would like to remove the tree as soon as possible. I was told by Iain Palmer that no report is needed for this tree as it is obviously dead. I have photos as evidence. The tree will be felled on our Network Rail land. New tree will not be replanted as this location is full of trees and will naturally have samplings growing. Location of the tree is W3W: normal.ample.repay. It is oposite house 104. However No. 106 has an extension to his garden along his and his neighbour's houses. It's like an allotment. I had to upload the same docuemnt twice as the system required 2 documents otherwise it would have not let me submit the application. Please please call me if there is an issue with this application before you reject it. Or Iain Palmer is also ok to be contacted if there are issues with this application. Thank you very much!

32 Prince's Road Brighton BN2 3RH
Single oak tree in middle of back garden, currently around 10m tall and 5m wide, will have a crown reduction carried out to all the branches/height to maintain a balanced but smaller shape. We get this done every two years, the reduction will be back to the previous height/width, circa 8m tall and 4m wide. It is currently overhanging 34 Princes Road significantly. Tree surgeons have been contacted and will be selected, either Sussex Tree Care or Southern Tree Works. Both forsee no issues and could see previous reduction/coppicing points back to which we'd like it cut. Midterrace house so cuttings will be taken through the house and chipped and removed.

Please refer to attached sketch plan. T1 Sycamore: Re pollard. Cutting back to old pollard point at approximately 5m. The tree has clearly been managed this way in the past. The proposed work is because the tree excessively shades the surrounding gardens. Left unchecked the tree will become large and cause problems in the future.

Rear garden: T1 - American Elm Crown reduce and shape by approx. 3m Remove low limbs overhanging neighbouring garden to lift lower canopy by approx. 2m Crown lift on opposing garden at no.33 to balance lower canopy. Remove all Ivy to ground level Reason for work: The crown lacks the vitality commonly expected from an Elm of this size. The broad crown heavily overhangs the neighbouring garden to the south at no. 31. The tree owner is concerned about the safety of the tree. She would prefer to keep the tree but is aware she has a duty of care for her neighbours' safety and the protection of their property. To alleviate these concerns and also improve excessive shade to adjacent gardens, the above work has been proposed.
