Planning application
33 Roundhill Crescent Brighton BN2 3FQ
Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
Rear garden: T1 - American Elm Crown reduce and shape by approx. 3m Remove low limbs overhanging neighbouring garden to lift lower canopy by approx. 2m Crown lift on opposing garden at no.33 to balance lower canopy. Remove all Ivy to ground level Reason for work: The crown lacks the vitality commonly expected from an Elm of this size. The broad crown heavily overhangs the neighbouring garden to the south at no. 31. The tree owner is concerned about the safety of the tree. She would prefer to keep the tree but is aware she has a duty of care for her neighbours' safety and the protection of their property. To alleviate these concerns and also improve excessive shade to adjacent gardens, the above work has been proposed.

T1 Sycamore- remove 3 epicormic stems at the base of the tree (approx diameter 10 cms each) Reduce central top height of the tree by 2 meters and reshape the crown all around. Reasons- the tree has not been worked on for some time and it is cutting out light at the back of the property and for other properties in the vicinity. It is a very tall tree for the confined space that it is in.
