Awaiting decision Surrey Heath TWA/26/0206

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

T1 -Crown reduction of 1 x Oak tree by up to 2.5m radially all round, to leave a final height of 17.5m and a final crown spread (width) of 17m. Prune back the single, lowest lateral branch on the Oak Tree extending over the public highway by up to 7.0 metres, cutting back to a suitable lateral growth point. This branch currently extends approximately 12 metres out over the road at a height of only 3 metres. This major reduction will significantly alleviate the severe lever-arm stress and end-weight, ensuring the remaining growth safely clears the statutory 5.2-metre highway clearance height T2 & T3 2 x Scots Pine 2 x Scots Pines Weight Reduction & Thinning: Selective thinning and end-weight reduction are proposed as essential preventative maintenance. Several of the lower and middle lateral limbs have accumulated significant end-weight, placing heavy lever-arm stress on the main stems. Reducing this weight and removing congested growth will alleviate structural stress, decrease the wind-sail effect during storms, and greatly mitigate the risk of major branch failure or snapping. Works subject to TPO/6/07
