Proposal
The trees run east along the south side of the private road from the addres above for -250m. The trees in question are those in contact with the old post and wire fencing. Removal of old post and wire fencing that is currently damaging the trees. This will include removal of the concreted metal fence posts, by hand with spade and pick (ie. no heavy machinery in the root zone). Install new wooden post and rail wooded fencing the edge of the road. This is approximately 2 metres away from the tree centres and borders the very edge of the TPO area. Stakes will be used for fence posts, there will be no use of concrete. The posts will be hand driven, there will be no heavy machinery in the root zone - Winter 2015/2016, lay a double row of Hawthorn hedge along the new fence line.

T17 - Lime - fell. Evidence that extensive diseas (Kretzschmaria deusta) has caused considerable decay affecting the trees structural condition to such an extent foreseeable failure is probable. Recommend for felling by SODC Forestry officer in comment dated 12 Jan 17 in reference to planning consent P16/S3801/FUL. Beech (T2) - fell - classified as over mature and category C (see attached Arboricultural report). Removing will improve conditions for the closely located Yew tree (T1) which is of high amenity value. NB. It is not clear whether T1 or T2 are subject of TPOs, the precautionary assumption is that they are, hence listing the works on T2 here. The felling of a number of non TPO trees will also be taking place as per the attached Arboricultural and Planning Integration Report. Of note is the removal of 4 self seeded Sycamore trees (T9, T11, T12, T14) that impinge on the canopies of TPO beech trees (T8, T10, T13, T15). The 3 main branches are over 50 metres in length/height. The point where the 3 main branches emerge collects water/leaf litter and is at risk of rot. Due to the great height of the tree, Dave Cottrell (tree surgeon) has advised reducing the height of the 3 branches in question by 1/3 in order to put less stress on the junction point. We would like to widen our driveway by one metre towards the trees with a TPO on them. Reason for this is to make access to our property easier. Rupert has given his permission as its on his land. As we are owners of the fence, if t can be moved we will replace with a hornbeam hedge. The construction of the driveway will be 600m deep, using 20mlt gravel with a geo-cell layer to protect roots. Vehicle movements for day will be approx 4, whilst we would be driving nearer the trees, 3 out of 4 of them are diseased and the driving line acces in near to the diseased.
