    DM/2026/00234 Submitted 24 Feb 2026 50 yards away

Proposed work to the following trees from our front garden: Up to 30% reduction of a yew (T1) approx 39ft with a girth of 7.8 located 36ft from house. and Removal of a spruce (T3) approx 68ft with a girth of 9ft located 13ft from house. The trees are situated on the southern boundary of our house adjacent to the road to Tintern. Recent storms and the resulting loss of life and damage to homes caused by falling trees has made us very nervous given the proximity of these large trees to our house. An arboricultural survey undertaken in 2017 reported that the trees were already beginning to dominate the space between the boundary wall and our house and had considerably more growth potential. The report recommended removal of these trees due to potential for wind throw in extreme weather conditions. Recent storm events have caused us to revisit the professional advise we received and we are now seeking permission to remove these trees.

    DM/2021/01283 Submitted 27 Jul 2021 100 yards away

The proposal is: to extend the rear of the property's eastern section as a single floor, flat roof extension including roof light. The dimensions of the extension would be to extend out by 4000mm in depth, with a width matching the existing rear of the property, which would be 7291mm. The proposal would be to extend using the existing stone that would be recovered from the rear of the property and matching stonework for any remainder. The proposed elevations would be designed to match the existing wall, with the eastern, southern and western sides of the elevation using proposed stone elevations to match the existing, lintel details to match existing, and the installation of bi-fold doors. The proposal would be to use aluminium grey frames for the doors (which would be similar to those used in recent development of 1 Coombe Lea). The ground floor windows on the northern elevation and eastern elevation would be reduced in height (whilst maintaining existing lintel) - with the raising of the cill height. The windows would be deigned to match the extension at the rear, in addition to the replacement with matching windows and frames throughout property. Internally, the proposal would involve 1) the removal of internal walls between the reception, study and sitting room, and transfer of the kitchen into this open plan area; and 2) insertion of wall between family room and existing kitchen, insertion of a space within existing kitchen and expansion of utility room by removing existing walls.

Removal of the following trees from our front garden: A yew (T1) approx 39ft with a girth of 7.8 located 36ft from the house. A western red ceder (T2) approx 92ft with a girth of 13ft located 25 ft from the house. A spruce (T3) approx 68ft with a girth of 9ft located 13ft from the house. The three trees are situated on the southern boundary of our house, adjacent to the road to Tintern. Recent storms and the resulting loss of life and damage to homes caused by falling trees has made us very nervous given the proximity of these very large trees to our house.
