8 Beechwood Drive Cobham Surrey KT11 2DX
Tree Preservation Order EL:10/07 - Tree: T15 Weeping Willow TPO: EL:10/07 Proposed Works: Remove and replant Pre-Application Ref: 2026/1688 This evidence supports our application to remove and replant T15, the mature Weeping Willow at 8 Beechwood Drive, following the site visit and pre-application advice from Russell Gibbons, Senior Tree Officer. Site Plan Plan attached showing T15 in relation to No.8, neighbouring properties, driveways, footpath and highway. Surface Roots / Damage Photographs show extensive surface roots, raised lawn areas and damage to surrounding surfaces. The roots protrude significantly above ground, making lawn maintenance difficult. Roots have also damaged the driveway at No.7, which has been repaired numerous times, but damage continues to recur. Further root expansion raises concern regarding future damage to the driveway, footpath and highway. Drains Photographs show works undertaken by the water company to repair a drain affected by tree-root intrusion. Outgrown Location The Willow was planted approximately 44 years ago. Photographs demonstrate its considerable size, spread and proximity to houses, footpath and highway. Photographs following previous pruning and current photographs demonstrate the degree and speed of regrowth. Its canopy extends towards/over the footpath and highway and requires regular intervention. Maintenance / Future Growth Substantial pruning is required approximately every 12-18 months at a cost of around 1,000 each time to maintain clearance. This only manages the canopy and cannot address the continuing root-related problems. If left unmanaged, accessibility problems and the potential for further damage would increase. Accessibility The tree and its roots affect access to neighbouring driveways. Of particular concern is No.7, where an elderly family member who uses a wheelchair lives. Root damage has repeatedly disturbed the driveway surface, making wheelchair access more difficult and creating uneven areas and a

This will allow more light into the property. T2- Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) located again in a southerly direction to the rear of the property. The client proposes a reduction in hight by 4m because they're concerned about the size of the tree and proximity to the house following some branches failing. The tree is currently 24m high and 6m wide and will be 20m high and 6m wide following the proposed works. T3- Yew (taxus baccata) located in a southerly direction to the rear of the property. Little Heath House The Ridings Cobham Surrey KT11 2PU
Tree Preservation Order EL:94/18 - T1- Oak tree- The reduction of the entire tree by 3m to reduce the risk of over loaded branches breaking out in high winds. Branches have been breaking out from this tree and the homeowner worries that about ranch will eventually hit the house. Current height 18m, resulting height will be 15m. Width currently 16m, resulting width 10m. Removal of all dead and dangerous branches. T2- Beech tree- Fell- Removal of this tree down to ground level to ease the congestion in the area and allow light through to the area below. Multiple wounds on this tree that haven't healed but have decayed. The upper canopy has been rubbing on neighbouring branches and has intertwined with both Oak trees creating extensive damage to the main stem in the upper canopy creating weak points on the tree. T3- Large Oak tree- Reduce the entire crown of this tree by up to 3 metres. This tree is far too large being so close to the neighbours building and drops lots of debris into the gardens below making the children's play area unusable at times. The tree casts an almighty shadow over the neighbours garden. This tree has a lot of dead wood within the canopy and also has OPM present. Current height 18m, remaining height 15m. Width currently 16m, resulting width 10m. T4- Sweet chestnut tree- This tree creates a lot of debris through out the year and creates a lot of shade over the lawn and plants. Land Side of Portsmouth Road Portsmouth Road Cobham KT11 2NH
Tree Preservation Order EL:18/07 - T1 - Horse chestnut - Proposed Works: Crown lift over the roadside only to provide a minimum clearance of 5.2 metres above ground level. All pruning shall be limited to secondary branches where practicable and carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 50mm. Reason for Proposed Works: Following a tree survey, it was identified that the crown over the carriageway has been subject to contact from larger vehicles in the past. The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.

2 Park Hill Drive Cobham Surrey KT11 2FN
Tree Preservation Order EL:186 - The tree is a Sycamore with TPO number T53 on a badge on it's trunk . On our Tree TPO report from Elmbridge ( circa 1984 ) T53 is stated to be a Holly so we suspect that the badge has been moved over the years and that this sycamore is not actually TPO'd . Nevertheless we wish to move with caution hence this application . We wish to entirely remove this tree as it is in poor health but more importantly it is growing aggressively into the space occupied by a beautiful specimen Poplar tree which we wish to allow to grown. The tree in question is also close to one of our 150 year old Sequoia and we are trying to ensure this area is in prime condition for all specimen trees to flourish.

24 Fairacres Cobham Surrey KT11 2JW
Tree Preservation Order EL:10/04 - T1 - Cedar - A large limb has fallen into the play area doing minor damage. Likely due to "summer branch drop". There is evidence in the crown of other historic limb failures + cedars naturally have a disposition to shed heavy limbs. Given the changing weather patterns it seems probable that hot springs/summers will produce conditions for branch drop more + more frequently. We proposed a an approx. 20% reduction in weight on all major libs by selective thinning, aiming to keep pruning cuts at a maximum diameter of 75mm, No reduction in overall height or diameter, with the objective of reducing probability of future failures.

Thraves Beech Close Cobham Surrey KT11 2EN
Tree Preservation Order EL:11/29 - Proposed Works: Reduce the height of three mature Scots Pine trees (G6 on map) located within the front driveway area by approximately 3-4 metres, to suitable growth points and whilst retaining a balanced and natural shape in keeping with the species. Reason for Works: The trees are approximately 23 metres in height and are positioned in close proximity to the dwelling and garage structures. Due to their size, they are within falling distance of both the property and neighbouring properties. The proposed reduction works are intended to lower the overall sail area of the crowns, helping to reduce wind resistance during periods of severe weather and minimise the risk of branch or structural failure during storms. The works will also assist in maintaining the trees in a safe and balanced condition, improving their overall appearance and supporting their long-term health and longevity. In addition, the trees are located close to existing mains drainage infrastructure. As the trees continue to mature and increase in size, there is concern that further root development could potentially affect the drainage system. The proposed works therefore form part of a proactive management approach to reduce future risks to both the property and underground services while retaining the trees as important landscape features.

7 Sandringham Park Cobham Surrey KT11 2EQ
Tree Preservation Order - EL:97/06 - T1 - Holly - Fell - The Holly is a poor-quality specimen with limited amenity value. In addition, felling the tree will improve natural light levels to the garden and the property, enhancing the usability and enjoyment of these areas. The removal of this specimen is not expected to have a significant adverse impact on the overall character or amenity of the site. T2 - Sycamore - remove juvenile stem and reduce remainder by 3m to leave finished height of 7m and finished spread of 3m. Again the work will improve light levels reaching the garden and the property, which are currently significantly affected by the size and spread of the tree. Removing the juvenile stem and carrying out a sympathetic crown reduction will help maintain the tree at a more appropriate size for its location while retaining its overall health, form, and amenity value. The proposed works are considered proportionate and represent ongoing tree management rather than unnecessary or excessive pruning.
