Planning application
30 LAKEWOOD ROAD, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 1EW
Works: Trees
Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
1no. Pine (T1) - Reduce crown by approx. 2–2.5m and remove two large, over-extended lower limbs. Tree is exhibiting a pronounced lean, with exposed roots visible on opposite side of stem. Reduction will reduce overall crown weight and wind sail area, while removal of identified over-extended limbs will reduce excessive end weight and leverage. Works will reduce loading and improve overall balance whilst retaining the tree where practicable.

1no. Redwood (T4, originates from no. 30) - Crown lift of bottom 9 branches, to increase the amount of light reaching ground level. This is necessitated due to the dense nature of the tree's branches. This amounts to no more than a crown lift of 1m.

1no. Corylus (Hazel),1no. Crataegus (Hawthorn) & 1no. Oak - To prune back approx. 2-3m back from fence. To provide and maintain a 1m clearance from the fence line surrounding the site compound. The trees are currently overhanging into the compound area, and the works are required to ensure safe access, facilitate operational activities, and address health and safety considerations within the site.

1no. Silver Birch (T1) - Fell to ground level due to poor physiological state of the tree which has been occurring over the last four years. There is no reasonable reduction of the crown possible that would prolong the life of the tree as tree is unlikely to respond well to pruning. Replant with another Birch.

1no. Oak (T1, originating from no. 24 Thornbury Wood, SO53 5DQ) - Reduce lateral limbs extending over garden and towards property by approx. 2.5m to even up the tree and provide a natural and balanced shape. Majority of branches are to the Southeast side of tree. Pruning will be carried out back to natural growth points to improve light levels within garden and minimise overhang towards house, while preserving the tree's overall form and health.
