This portion of the border is very unsightly and has grown in a hap-hazard fashion (i.e. has massive gaps at the base so as not providing a adequate barrier / border into the adjacent field). The fact the both these plants have spikey foliage also prevents a worrying problem as we have two children under 3 years of age.
