Proposed Works: Reduction of T1 - Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) by 2-3 metres in both canopy height and lateral spread. Reason for Works: Decay is present within the lower stem, and Polyporus squamosus (Dryad?s Saddle) is evident on the tree, indicating internal dysfunction and a reduction in structural stability. The works are proposed to manage the associated risk while retaining the tree.

Northbrook Hall Duke Street Micheldever Winchester Hampshire SO21 3DF
We have recently been granted Planning Permission to install solar panels on the south facing roof of Northbrook Hall, which stands in the conservation area of Micheldever. In order to gain the full benefits of the system we wish to prune back the crab apple tree which sits to the south of the building. I attach a photo of the tree in front of the building. The tree was one of a pair of trees that were planted, presumably for decorative purposes, on the strip of land between the Hall and Duke Street. The second tree, a cherry ( to the left of the crab apple in the picture) suffered a substantial break a few years ago and has so far failed to regenerate. I understand that it is now unlikely to do so. Pillar Apple - Reduce crown of Apple to previous reduction points. (Amended) It should be noted that this part of Duke Street has a large number of very tall mature hard wood trees which of course would not be affected at all. We would suggest that the environmental benefits of a more efficient solar panel installation would outweigh the very minor change to the tree population of the immediate area.

Treetops Petersfield Road Winchester Hampshire SO23 0JD
The tree is a mature beech that sits toward the front of my plot and overhangs my neighbours garage. On 30/10/25 I gave WCC notice that deadwood needed to be removed. Mulberry Tree Services completed the work. The climber commented that two limbs were rubbing and one was worn through by about a third. He indicated that if left, either limb could eventually break off. He suggested that the upper part of the lower limb were removed to prevent this. On the photo provided. The yellow arrow shows the point where the limbs are rubbing and the red arrive the proposed point of removal.

21 Dean Lane Winchester Hampshire SO22 5LH
T2 & T4: Larch- Fell to ground level. The pair of trees are in very close proximity to the neighbouring property, and overhang in parts by a substantial amount. The trees are both also reaching over-maturity, and have lost a number of limbs in the past as a result of being very over- extended. The pair of trees are now suppressing 2 Yew trees growing below them, and their removal will prevent any further limb failures, and allow the Yew trees to fill the space with a better structural form. T3: Yew- Crown lift to a height of 3-4m from ground level, removing only minor secondary laterals and no major limbs. (Amended)

Wharf Farm Dairy Wharf Hill Winchester Hampshire SO23 9NQ
Intended Works: Removal of 3x Sycamore Trees (Acer Psuedoplatanus) from garden of Wharf Farm Dairy (pictures attached). The three sycamore trees are between 8 & 10 metres from the outer wall of the house and lie between 1 & 2 metres of the foundations of the Grade 2 Listed Blackbridge over the River Itchen. The Sycamores are an estimated 12 meters in height and lower branches reach to within 2m of the building. Reasons for removal: Allow light into the garden. Growth under the heavy sycamore canopy is restricted & grass will not grow. Prevent future root damage to both house and bridge Reduce leaf & seed fall which is causing guttering blockages and damage to the property. Mitigating Planting: A Weeping Willow (Salix Babylonica) will be planted adjacent to the site of the furthest sycamore to maintain the aesthetic aspect of the property when viewed from Blackbridge & College Walk.

Bay, self-seeded multi-stemmed tree, immediately adjacent to retaining boundary brick wall to Avenue Road. The wall has started to lean out over the pavement, possibly due to pressure from tree roots. I propose to get the tree removed with as much root as possible, then consider additional buttressing to the wall. (The wall received planning permission in 1982.)
