T1 Leylandii x Cupressocyparis leylandii T1 is growing within close proximity of the boundary wall. also overhanging a swimming pool and driveway of Belton house, also overhanging higher Lincombe road slightly. the growing habits of a leylandii is very fast growing with a shallow root system, leylandii are also known to shed overweighed limbs. when growing in a built up area leylandii require maintenance. I would like to reduce t1 by 50% and shown on pictures. this would be making pruning cuts of up to 25cm on vertical growth. this will remove risk of the tree failing and mean it can be kept for privacy and keep the aesthetics it provides the roadside. T2 Eucalyptus Eucalyptus globulus t2 is growing over the pool of Belton house. this tree is in good heath and the overall size of the tree seems to be fine for its surroundings. there is one very heavily weighted limb as marked in pic 2. this limb has grown towards the light and become heavily weighted. I would like to remove 1 primary limb entirely in order to remove the risk of failing above the swimming pool.

Monterey Cypress (T1) - Reduce the crown by approximately 2 metres on the eastern side only to correct the developing structural imbalance and to reduce the likelihood of further branch failure, supporting the tree's health and stability. All reduction cuts will be made back to appropriate lateral growth points, and no pruning wound will exceed 50 mm in diameter. All works will be undertaken in accordance with BS3998:2010 - Tree Work Recommendations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This selective reduction is necessary to maintain the tree's stability, structural integrity, and safety, especially following the recent stem failure and loss of shelter from neighbouring trees.

T1 European lime Tilia x europaea T1 is a mature lime tree that is growing within close proximity of the neighbouring building (within 1m) due to its size limbs are becoming heavily weighted and more likely to fail. Also large amounts of deadwood and debris regularly fall of the roof. T1 is growing very close to a mature beech tree and starting to affect the shape of the beech tree. I would like to reduce T1 by 20% in order to match the final height of the beech tree adjacent. this will keep the tree safe next to building by removing weight from weighted branches. and keep the aesthetics of the trees growing as one canopy. I would also like to remove the lowest primary overhanging the neighbours roof. T2 Beech Fagus sylvatica T2 is a mature beech tree growing within close proximity of beech lodge and the neighbouring property. I would like to reduce t2 by 30% and reshape as marked it pic 1. this will remove risk from heavily weighted branches failing, and reduce the amount the tree catches the wind in a built up area. reducing the risk of the tree while keeping the tree for the aesthetics of the road. this should be maintained every 5 years on a cyclical basis

Plan is to pollard T1 (Sycamore) and T2 (Oak) to the height of the larger conifer hedge as shown in marked photo. The primary reason for this work is risk mitigation. A large Ash tree that previously stood directly between T1 and T2 failed a few years ago, falling into the school playground located immediately behind the property. Honey fungus was identified on the failed Ash, indicating the potential for decay and structural weakness in trees of this proximity and species. Pollarding T1 and T2 to the height of the neighboring conifer hedge will limit the risk of structural failure while maintaining the trees in a safe and manageable form. The proposed pollarding is proportionate and minimal, ensuring the trees continue to contribute to the character and visual amenity of the area, while mitigating the risk posed by potential fungal infection or structural defects.

EXEMPTION NOTICE T1 Horse Chestnut: Fell to near ground level. I am writing to inform you that we intend to remove the tree in question on 6th of January 2026. The horse chestnut has suffered two recent major limb failures within the last few months, which caused damage to property. Inspection of the failed limbs shows extensive internal decay, with the wood at the point of failure being completely rotten. The tree exhibits fungal brackets indicative of significant internal decay. Given the history of failure, the presence of advanced decay, and the proximity of property, the tree presents a foreseeable risk of serious harm. Further limb failure is considered likely and cannot be reliably mitigated through pruning. The local Tree Officer has been consulted and has confirmed that removal is acceptable under the dangerous tree exemption. Replacement tree: The tree is located within a confined raised bed enclosed by a stone wall. Following removal, the stump and associated root plate will occupy the majority of the available space. Stump removal would require significant excavation and disturbance to the surrounding structure and hard landscaping, resulting in disproportionate cost and disruption. For these reasons, on-site replacement planting is not considered practical. The applicant intends to plant shrubs and ornamental plants suitable for the available soil volume around the stump.

T1 - Sweet chestnut(Castanea sativa) - Sectional dismantle and fell. - The tree is situated on a steep bank with split-level terrain, resulting in a compromised root system. Soft rot decay was identified on the northern buttress root similar characteristics associated with Kretzschmaria deusta (not confirmed), with a small adjacent cavity present at the lower stem. Acoustic sounding indicated a distinctly hollow response from approximately 200 mm above ground level to 1,200 mm, suggesting the presence of internal decay extending vertically through the lower stem section.
