Granted Stratford-on-Avon 26/01728/TREE Notification for Works to Trees in CA

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1 - chanticleer pear - Fell. Severe decay to base of main remaining stem, causing base of the stem to split. This tree is overhanging telephone lines and near overhead power lines. T2 - St Lucie cherry - Fell. Decay through the main stem and at the base. This has also previously had weight removed to prolong its life but is over a well-used footpath in the garden. T3 - silver birch - Fell. Reaching over-mature status. Had one in the group removed this year (25/02857/TREE) and one totally failed the previous winter. T3 is showing signs of dieback in the canopy and decay in the main stem, with bark detached from the stem and bore holes present. T4 - holm oak - Crown lift to 2 metres above ground level over the lawn, to match the grazing level in the deer park. T5 - sycamore - Remove dead limb. Reduce 3 over-extended lower limbs above driveway by 3 metres. T6 - weeping beech - Fell. Standing dead. T7 - Indian bean tree - Fell. This tree is mature and has been in steady decline for 7 years. Because of the brittle wood and diminshed canopy, I think it is pragmatic to remove this tree before it fails entirely. I do not expect it to still be alive in 2 years' time. T8 - paperbark maple - Fell. Standing dead. T9 - northern white cedar - Fell. Severe decline, approximately 5-10% of canopy still alive. T10 - kanzan cherry - Fell. Over-mature and suffering from wounds during telephone line clearancing over 11 years ago. Has little ornamental value and approximately 60% of the canopy is dead. T11 - ash - Not within conservation area, but would like to make note of its removal due to Ash Dieback and Ganoderma. G1 - holm oaks - Prune to match T11 on application ref. 25/02857/TREE. Southern aspect of crown beginning to encroach on stone pillars and footpath. Crown lift over footpath to give 2.5 metres clearance and prune to give 1 metre clearance. G2 - mixed conifers - Fell. One is dead and they offer little ornamental value. Replace with ornamental shrubs.
