I recently purchased an old farm house, Church Bank Farm in Binton. It has a Grade 2 listed barn and is listed itself. The barn is in a state of poor repair and needs some work done to fix the roof. I have engaged some specialists who deal with listed builders (and in particular the oak and wood required). They have requested a meeting with you to confirm you're happy with the approach they're taking to the repairs. Additionally, I have been advised by an engineer that I need some 'Ties' added to the main property. I understand there are various options available to implement these and I have been advised to seek your guidance (with the specialists) as to which you'd prefer.
