Proposal

2x large mature Lime trees. There are substantial sections of major deadwood, one of which has recently failed onto a vehicle and there is some deadwood over the garden and adjacent footpath. Our recommendations are to remove sections of major deadwood from both trees greater than 65mm in diameter. To also remove epicormic growth from base to crown break on both trees and removing ivy around the two bases to allow closer inspection to assess for decay dysfunction or pathogens. The tree to the south substantially overhangs and is close to the property. To reduce two low limbs back by approximately 2.5m and this won't alter the overall canopy spread pruning back to points of suitable secondary live growth. Also the low overextended limb over the road and drive. There is very heavy foliage on the end and extends beyond the line of canopy. To reduce this limb to 2-2.5m to bring back into the line of canopy. The canopy of both trees is asymmetric being shared canopy dynamic and the reduction works should bring the canopy spread down to between 14m and 15m.

    T1 Horse Chestnut Twin stemmed from 4 metres Stem overhanging the drive has had a large limb fail due to a poor branch attachment with some decaying material present. The wound has revealed further decay of the stem from where it came. The growth above this wound is significant and very likely to fail at some point but is likely to be extremely vulnerable during weather events as we move into the Autumn / Winter period. We recommend reducing this stem to sound the wood below the damaged and decayed area, and reduce the remainder of tree to the same height by approximately 8 metres.
