The tree has been identified by a Structural Surveyor as being responsible for structural movement to the adjacent building (which is within 1 metre away from the tree). In order to repair and renovate this structure, underpinnng and ground floor excavation will have to take place which will result in a large proportion of root severance. Whilst the tree is of a conserable size, it is not highly visible wtihin the surrounding area and does not contribute significantly to the visual amenities of the Conservation Area. Only a glimpse of it is possible as you walk along the footpath of Reading Road - and even then, you have to be looking directly into the grounds of the property to actually see the tree. The site is very well treed and its removal will not be leaving th egarden or surrounding area devoid of tree cover. The owners will be carrying out significant landscaping of the garden and will be planting more trees to mitigate for its removal. Remarks:
