  Single Standard Maple Tree. Fell and replace with half-standard maple tree. Age and Height: The tree was planted to replace a Willow in 2011. Now 15 years on, at 10M+ high, it's taller than the house. Position: The tree was planted just 90cm from our boundary wall and 3.5M from the house. We estimate the lateral spread of the roots now to be somewhere between 7.5-15Metres. Potential Damage: Two years ago, we needed to call Thames Water as we had a problem with our water supply. Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
