Horse Chestnut by road and car park - This specimen shows an extensive area of decay in the area of test. Consider extensive remedial treatment or complete removal. Monitor on a regular basis if retained for future structural changes. Located beside road and car park, this Chestnut is showing poor vitality with evidence of Phytophthora (bleeding canker) visible on southern aspect with dead cambium and buttress. There is a large seam of decayed wood close to bifurcation as indicated by percussive hammer. Please see sonic tornograph test results enclosed. (M Gulliford aware of situation). Group of 3 x late mature Ash (two tested) Ash T4 - This specimen appears sound in the area of test. Monitor on a regular basis if retained for future structural changes. Ash T2 - This specimen appears sound in the area of test. Monitor on a regular basis if retained for future structural changes. Basal decay on T4 was currently deemed, non-structurally compromising. All three trees have undergone light retrenchment pruning which has resulted in successful regeneration throughout the canopy extemities, and also internally. Lightly thin canopy by 10% and reduce regrowth by 2m, particularly on laterals to the west over cricket nets (sport's area) to leave a balanced, flowing form. No pruning exceeding 60mm in diameter. Some habitat holes are present and upon inspection deemed acceptable to retain with above recommended works being carried out.

G3 - Remove the hanging branches from an Ash tree. The Beech tree from which the section failed is a very large tree. Its a large section that came down There is extensive decay at the point at which it failed there is an included union and substantial proportion of the canopy is still up and the only attachment is where this very decayed wood is. It is clear that at some point in the near future this is likely to fail. To monolith the tree to just below the level of the failure, which means removing the remaining canopy. At the same time the Ash tree will need to be reduced by approximately 30% folia which equates to 1.5-2m from the branch tips to mitigate the wind loading on this tree. Otherwise the section that's failed and the remaining canopy gone this tree will be very exposed and is likely to shed branches in relatively moderate winds. G3 A group of trees consisting of 6 Ash, 4 Beech, 18 Horse Chestnut, 19 Norway Maple and 6 Lime Spec: S1 T1 Ash, remove hanging branches, reduce canopy by 1.5-2m this equates to approx 30% of the tree's le Spec: S1 T2 Beech, to monolith the tree to just below the failure Spec: S19 Please add the following at the end of all the aprroved works: All pruning cuts must be made at bra Reason: R1 Sound arboricultural management Reason: R2 To ensure future compatibility with site, surroundings and usage

T1: Birch: Twin stemmed Birch with a crown break a couple of feet above ground level. This tree has had cobra bracing installed and has previously had a crown reduction undertaken due to the applicants concerns over its safety with its close proximity to their own and neighbouring properties and the high volume of pedestrians who walk past the house particularly during the school pick up and drop off timings. The applicant wishes to reduce the height of the tree by 4 metres, to a point just above the previous pruning points and the lateral branches by up to 1 metre. T2, T3 and T4: Birch: Applicant wishes to carry out a 2m crown reduction of all 3 trees. These trees were planted by the applicant on the basis that they would be maintained as small trees owing to the size of space in this area of the garden and the proximity of buildings.

7 Vicarage Road Henley-on-thames RG9 1HF
There are two trees in the front garden Permission is requested to fell both trees. Tree 1 = Weeping Birch Tree Tree 2 = Maple Tree Weeping Birch (Tree 1) This has become too large for the site, the roots are lifting the paving around it, making it a trip hazard. Roots have also entered the nearby drains, causing problems. Permission is sought to fell the tree, to make safe access to the property and to make space on the driveway for off street parking. (There is a nearby primary school, and parking can be a challenge.) Maple (Tree 2) This tree has also become too big for its location, which is very close to the boundary of No. 5 and No. 7 Vicarage Rd, causing lifting of the paving around it. It is also very close to both houses. Permission is sought to fell this tree.
