South Moreton Rectory, Church Lane, South Moreton, Didcot, OX11 9AF
Various Remove dead and dying sections of hedge thought to be infected with Honey fungus and grind out roots to prevent further spread. Remove other small dead trees on site and grind roots. Fell section of ivy covered trees (one has collapsed) and grind roots. Grind out old stumps to prevent Honey Fungus. Fell group of over mature Plum trees near to the neighbour's pavillion/stable block/wall/swimming pool. Potential for future failures with decay in main branch forks. Grind stumps. Replacement plant removed hedge sections with double row of mixed Hawthorn and Buckthorn 40-60cm whips. Over mature Weeping Ash does have an inonotus hispidus bracket indicating branch heartwood decay with wood pecker holes and other cavities. This tree appears to have been reduced recently so I am inclined to retain this as a feature tree of high visual amenity. There is also a mature Horse Chestnut to the front, recently competently and sensitively reduced, probably due to the bleeding canker issue so no furthe works required within the next 5 years. T1 - Ash T1 - Ash - located on boundary adjacent to cricket club. Previously pruned and now starting to encroach onto thatch. Some deadwood present throughout crown. As a species ash has the capacity to grow into a large specimen. This tree in particular could potentially cause problems to the house and thatch if allowed to grow to its full potential. Therefore a pruning regime should be implemented to help abate future problems and to keep the tree in harmony with its surroundings. Thin/reduce by 15% by removing up to 1.5 metres of apical and lateral growth. Remove to source lowest limb growing over lawn (approx 4") and adjacent limb (approx 3").
