Reduce the crown by approximately 2 metres in all aspects to maintain a balanced crown and appropriate size for its location. Selective crown thinning will improve light penetration and airflow, whilst the removal of major deadwood and crossing or rubbing branches will improve the tree's structural condition, reduce the likelihood of branch failure and promote its long-term health in accordance with BS3998:2010. T2 Cherry Tree: The proposed works form part of routine cyclical tree maintenance. Reduce the overall height by approximately 2 metres and reduce the radial spread to restore a balanced, well-proportioned crown appropriate for its setting. The removal of deadwood will improve safety and the tree's overall condition whilst maintaining its long-term health and amenity value in accordance with BS3998:2010.

T1- Ash tree- Remove and replace with Liquidambar tree. This tree has been a problem for many years. It grows adjacent to a street light on a busy road thus consuming and blocking the light for pedestrians & road users. it drops debris onto the footpath & road. The tree was last trimmed back in November 2023 and has now grown back over the footpath & road. There are branches breaking out and some panic growth visible. Suspicion that Ash dieback is present. The tree is covered in Ivy so the condition of the stem cannot be seen at this stage. The reason for the replanting of a Liquidambar tree is that it would have a nicer look on the road. T2- Small Nespola tree- Remove this tree. It doesn't add any benefit to the property or area and has been left to grow wild.

Leyland cypress: Fell and remove stump. Circled in Red - at the back of the property. There is no tree preservation order. The tree in question is a Leyland cypress which is approximately 17 metres in height and growing. It has a stem diameter of 580mm (measures at 1.6metres in height). The tree is located on my northern boundary and along the boundary wall of number 44 Ailsa Road as shown on the site plan attached. I have already applied to fell and remove the other Leyland cypress and now feel that this one may cause damage as well - it is currently pulling up the wooden boarder and likely to be better to take both trees down at the same time to avoid disruption. They are close together so likely to affect each other. If the tree is allowed to grow to maturity, it may grow to excess of 30metres in height and achieve a 1000mm stem diameter. There are no prominent features, it is no native to the UK and necessarily adding to the value of the local area. The loss would have no impact on the area as we back on to the St Margarets Pleasure Grounds where there are many large and beautiful trees exists so the loss of this tree would have no adverse impact on the local area.
