Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
T1 Cherry (x1) Fell to ground level. Reason: Twin stemmed. One of the stems is only 50cm from the lamp post. The top of the crown is also imbalanced because it has been suppressed by the crown of the nearby lime and has grown towards the light.

T1 Bay Tree (x1) - Fell to ground level. Reason: Client states that the walls are being damaged at the base of the tree, sewage pipe work below has already been repaired once, and work to stabilise the house by underpinning has already been done in the past. The tree is beautiful, its proximity to the house and size even with it being trimmed regularly still reduces light and isn't getting any smaller so concerns with pipes and the house have not gone with getting it trimmed regularly. Client would plant a replacement Cherry or Apple tree further away from the house. T2 Leylandii (x1) - Fell to ground level. Reason: Tree is dead. T3 Leylandii (x1) - Cut back side over garden by 1.5-2m. Final width to be 4m. T6 Magnolia (x1) - Cut back overhanging branches by 1.5m. Final width to be 5m.

Request for permission to fell a Betula Pendula, Silver birch tree because of concerns of its dying condition and the risk of it falling on adjacent properties causing property damage and potentially hurting people passing by or damaging vehicles driving by on the street. The branches dying back during the summer months with the leaves turning brown and the dead stems at the top are the main indications that cause my client and his neighbours concern of the health of the tree and therefore of its questionable stability in the coming months. Concerns have become more prominent since another tree fell on its own during a storm on the adjacent road (St Mary's Grove) a couple of weeks ago. We'd also like to ask for permission to plant a Liquidambar Styraciflua to replace the Betula Pendula that we are requesting to fell.
