T13 - Beech- Fagus Sylvatica Reduce unworked half of Beech crown by up to 2 metres to match previous reduction on house side. Unreduced half of canopy currents spread approximately 8 metres once reduced branches will be approximately 6 metres. Works will rebalance canopy and reduce asymmetric loading. Remove deadwood. We are applying to carry out a proportional reduction on the unworked half of the Beech tree canopy to restore balance and reduce asymmetric loading. The previous approved works in December 2020 permitted reduction only on the limb supported by the cobra bracing system (the house side). Those works were completed by a previous contractor, but the opposite side of the crown was left untouched. This has resulted in uneven weight distribution and increased strain on the main union and bracing system. The proposed works involve reducing the unworked half of the canopy by up to 2 metres to match the previously reduced side, removing any dead, dying, or crossing branches, and lightly reshaping to maintain a natural form. These works are intended to restore canopy balance, reduce end-weight on the main boughs, and improve overall structural stability to ensure the tree’s long-term safe retention within the garden setting. All operations will be carried out in accordance with BS 3998:2010 (Tree Work – Recommendations)

Oak – Current crown spread approximately 12 metres. Reduce lateral branches on the property/house side by approximately 0.3 metres and lateral branches on the road side by approximately 0.3 metres, pruning back to suitable growth points. This would result in an approximate final crown spread of 11.4 metres and represents a minimal reduction of approximately 5% in overall crown spread. Remove epicormic growth/trunk suckers on the road side up to the crown break.
