Nothing bigger than 5cm diameter to be cut as advised by consulted tree surgeon (Bartlett's), who would be employed to undertake the works. Quercus ilex is a large landscape tree, a suitable size for the neighbouring RBG Kew and Kew Green itself. It is out of context as a domestic tree in this setting.(51KG-06 wider view.jpeg) It is likely that this tree was never intended to be grown in this position. (51kg-05 Historic view from KG.JPG). The large landscape trees in the landscape are all either on Kew Green itself, or borrowed landscape from RBG Kew. None of the domestic settings have trees of this size in their front gardens, being limited to cherries and olives of between 2.5m-4m tall. The householders would like to keep the existing tree, as per the TPO, but at a size that is more suitable for its setting, not interfering with the house, pavement, or public highway.
