Proposal

T1 Deodar Cedar instalation of root barrier as per MWA Site Plan (T6 of TPO 565/1989) at The Embers, 8 Evesham Road North, An application submitted by MWA in October 2021 (21/02809/TPO) to remove the cedar tree was refused by the council. As an alternative to tree removal, the installation of a root barrier is proposed to mitigate the influence of the cedar. The barrier (Option A of the included Optera Statement of Work document) will be installed in the garden area of The Embers, 8 Evesham Road North, and will be excavated within the Root Protection Area (RPA) of the cedar. As amended on 08/07/2022.

Crown Reduction, Removal of up to 1.5m branch end length where appropriate. The photos of the tree (submitted) show certain branches as being significantly longer than the majority. We request that these can be cut back by an additional appropriate length to improve the overall symmetry of the tree. In the top 4 meters of the tree branch length reduction will be confined to 0.5m. Cut back to provide a minimum clearance of 1.5m from the neighbouring property - 6 Evesham Road North. Pruning cuts to secondary growth points with the balance and shape of the tree maintained or improved. No height reduction requested. Crown Thinning, To a maximum of 15% in density ??? evenly distributed throughout the crown system. To include removal of dead wood, crossing and/or rubbing branches (as previously approved in application 16/00173/TPO). All matters and associated reports concerning damage by the tree to this property were submitted in application number 21/02809-TPO.
