Awaiting decision Nottingham 23/01740/PWC Works to trees in Conservation Areas

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

Works: T1. Lime tree - Fell to ground level and replace with silver birch approx 3m further to the South. T2. Oak - cut back overhanging garden by reducing branches approx 1-2m. All cuts made to growth point as per BS3998 Justification: T1. The Lime tree is starting to push the boundary wall over. The wall has moved approximately 75mm at the top and the owner is keen to prevent further damage which is highly likely if the tree is not removed. The tree is only 2.7m from the house and is in the wrong location for a tree of this size. T2. The oak tree is overhanging the garden, sensitively reducing the branches back will enable the tree to be retained as an asset while reducing the negative impact on the garden.

T2 Ilex Aquifolium (Green Holly) - Trim and shape to tidy and maintain at no more than current size. T3 Betula Pendula (Silver Birch) - Minor pruning of shortening back a couple of the limbs to tidy lower branches to give the tree a more balanced appearance. T4 Taxus Bacatta (Yew) - Crown reduction by 30% to create a better shape and encourage a more compact head, reducing the overhang which is heavily shading the garden and overhanging the adjacent property, also allowing development of other trees (T3 & T5). T5 Ilex Aquifolium (Green Holly) - Trim and shape to maintain and to encourage better crown development and shape. T6 Ilex Aquifoilim (Green Holly) - Retain as existing. T7 Acer Platanoides var. (Maple) - Retain height and spread, but thin crown selectively removing up to 20% of the internal smaller branches to allow more light through the canopy into a heavily shaded area of the garden.
