Open the documentsWhat this grant of permission means
Monmouthshire granted permission on 29 April 2026, subject to any conditions on the decision notice. Work must normally begin within five years or the permission lapses. More in our guide to what happens after a planning decision.
About amendment applications
An amendment application makes limited changes to a permission that already exists; anything beyond modest adjustment needs a fresh application. More in our guide to planning application types.

DM/2026/01071 Awaiting decision
Middle Lodge Itton Road Itton Monmouthshire NP16 6BP
Application Reference Number: DM/2021/00903 Date of Decision: 03/09/2021 Condition Number(s): 1 Conditions(s) Removal: The applicants purchased Middle Lodge on 3 September 2021, the day the permission was granted. The property was uninhabitable at acquisition, which the Council recognised by awarding a Class A2 council tax exemption in November 2021. The implementation period has necessarily been spent repairing the existing building under Building Notice BN/2022/00207, and the Council issued its Building Regulations completion certificate in April 2025. The approved development has not been begun and the approved scheme is unchanged; further time is sought in which to implement it. The Council has granted comparable variations of condition 1, most recently DM/2025/00380 at 24 Mount Way, Chepstow, approved 22 January 2026. Full reasons are set out in the accompanying supporting statement, reference MLI/S73/2026/01. The applicants request that condition 1 be varied to allow a period of five years from the date of the decision on this application. Suggested wording: "The development to which this permission relates shall be begun not later than the expiration of five years beginning with the date of this permission." No other change is sought, and the applicants raise no objection to conditions 2 to 7 being reimposed.

NMA relating to planning DM/2026/00466. To install bi-fold doors on the double storey side extension rather than windows that were on the original drawings. We are looking to keep the planning permission for the single storey rear-extension in place although we are not intending to undertake this work now. We are also looking to render the rear and part of the side of the property rather than use all brickwork as this will be more in keeping with what is there now and with the adjoining property.
