What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with Lewisham for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About householder applications
How this application type works
Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

FRONT: ONE Malus (T2, previously T5*)(ht.6m) remove dead branches (exempt works) Reason: in a poor physiological condition, with slow growth. FRONT: ONE Variegated Maple (T3, previously T6*)(ht.10m) CROWN THIN by approx.15%. Reason: remove fully green branches that are not variegated as they grow more vigorously than the variegated branches and need regular removal. REAR: ONE Torbay or Cabbage Palm (T4)(ht.4-5m) FELL. Reason: close to rear of the property and is blocking view of the garden, has outgrown its location. REAR: ONE Laburnum (T1, previously T4*)(ht.5m) remove dead branches (exempt works) Reason: the tree is overshowed by more mature trees nearby and more branches are dying. Four seedlings from the tree have already been encouraged to grow in the garden. * see tree numbering in previous 6-wk notice DC/24/135689. Informative A: huge thank you for retaining trees and planting new Laburnum trees for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change. T1 - Acer negundo (o/s 74) - reduce laterals and crown lift 14m in height. No reduction to height. Reduce laterals by 2m from 8m to 6m on all compass points. A mature Acer negundo standing close to the front of the property opposite no. 74. The tree has extensive lateral limb overhanging the property and the highway. Lateral reduction will reduce end-weight on the longer limbs, improving the structural balance of the crown, and crown lifting will give clearance above the path/parking area and provide better light to the building below. T2 - Acer negundo (o/s 66)) - crown thin and remove dead limbs 9m in height. Crown thin by 20 %. A second Acer negundo positioned opposite no. 66. There is a quantity of deadwood within the crown and the canopy is dense. A light crown thin and removal of all deadwood >25mm will improve light penetration through the crown, reduce wind sail, and remove the risk of falling deadwood over the path beneath. T3 - Walnut - crown reduce 16m in height. Reduce height by 3m from 16m to 13m. Reduce laterals by 2m from 8m to 6m on all compass points. A semi-mature Walnut on the western boundary of the garden. The tree has been previously reduced. Works will retain the established reduction points to maintain the existing crown shape and form, keeping the tree in proportion to its position and reducing end-weight on regrowth from previous cuts. T5 - Rowan ? Remove dead limbs 9m in height. A Rowan situated centrally in the rear garden. The upper portions of the tree show clear dieback. Works are to reduce the crown back to live growth, removing the dead tips and encouraging healthy regrowth from the remaining live framework, prolonging the safe and useful life of the tree.
