59 Telford Avenue London SW2 4XL

Awaiting decision Lambeth Approval for works to trees in CA

Proposal

S1 - Camellia (Shrub on left boundary, by chest) - Prune to appropriate points by 0.5m for shape. T1 - Black Elder (left boundary) - reduce overall shape to appropriate points by 0.5m for aesthetics. T2 - Willow-Leaved Pear (Dead tree in decking area) - remove to ground level. T3 - Himalayan Birch (rear boundary) - Reduce to appropriate points by 0.5-2m following BS3998 standards to keep the tree maintained and controlled at a reasonable and aesthetically pleasing size without causing large pruning wounds that would hinder the trees longevity. T4 - Goat Willow (rear boundary) - Reduce overall canopy by approximately 2m to appropriate growth points, following BS3998 standards. The aim of the reduction is to allow more light into the garden, give the birch some space and to create a more visually appealing shape. T5 - Cherry (right boundary) - Remove dead and broken branches. Shape tree for aesthetics by 0.5m. S2- Ceanothus & S3 - Camellia (right boundary, rear garden) - Prune to appropriate points by 0.5m for shape and aesthetics. T6 - Willow-leaved pear (front garden) - Shape overall canopy into an aesthetically pleasing shape. T7 - Ornamental Cherry (front garden) - Remove deadwood. Reduce out of shape branches back to natural canopy shape by 0.5m where necessary for aesthetics. H1 - Copper Beech hedge (front garden, Right side of drive when stood at front door) - Reduce overgrown branches on neighbours side back into the line of the hedge by 0.5-1m. Re-trim top and sides of hedge back into boxed hedge shape. Copper Beech (front garden, left side of drive when stood at the front door) - Re-trim sides to appropriate points. Tops to be reduced to match height of Copper Beech hedge on other side of drive, by 0.5m.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Lambeth for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
