T2 - Oak, crown lift to 5m above ground level where overhanging residential garden only, MDC 25mm. Remove hazardous deadwood. Justification: These mature trees are significantly impacting the reasonable use of the garden, crown lifting and reducing the eastern canopy will improve conditions and reduce dominance. T1 - Oak Crown reduce by up to 2m, with pruning cuts not exceeding 50mm in diameter. Provide a vertical clearance of 4.5m to 13 Apple Farm Grange, requiring two cuts of up to 75mm in diameter. Reason for Works: This large, mature tree exhibits a vigorous growth rate and is overhanging and shading multiple neighbouring gardens. A light reduction at this stage is considered appropriate arboricultural management and will help to manage the trees size while keeping the impact on its physiological processes minimal. If left unmanaged, more extensive pruning is likely to be required in the future.

26/0243/TPO Split decision
Unit 10 To 12 Kestrel Business Park Kestrel Way Sowton Industrial Estate Exeter EX2 7JS
Grey Poplar T1 Justification The crown hangs low over the compound and is beginning to obstruct the use of the machinery, as well limiting access to high sided vehicles. There is also some epicormic growth on the main stem which is also beginning to become an obstruction. It overhangs the compound and several machines and pieces of equipment essential to the operation of the business, as well as the operatives. There are several hyperextended lateral branches throughout the crown. This is most apparent in the western aspect, where the branches are disproportionately long. Such as the species profile, the likelihood of failure from a large lateral branch is moderate. Specification of works ? Remove the epicormic growth from the main stem with a 100mm maximum cut diameter. ? Crown raise to 5.5m above ground level on the western aspect by removing the lowest four branches with a 125mm maximum cut diameter. ? Reduce the side of the remaining western crown aspect by 4m with a 125mm maximum cut diameter. ? Reduce the side of the rest of the crown 2-3m with a 100mm maximum cut diameter to maintain some crown symmetry, target branches that extend beyond the general crown profile.

T1-Maple The client feels that the tree, although much beloved, overtime becomes a little overbearing and casts a little more shade in the garden than they are comfortable with. The tree was last pruned in 2022 and the client would like to achieve similar results as last time. Reduce via thinning height of Maple by approximately 1.75m (tree is currently approximately 16m above ground level so a finished height would aim to be approximately 14.25m above ground level) and lateral crown spread by approximately 1.25m (tree is currently approximately 14m wide so a finished width would aim to be approximately 11.5m) making cuts no greater than 50mm in diameter.

G1: Common Holly, Hazel, Hawthorn, Wych Elm and Goat Willow. G2: Wych Elm, Hawthorn, Hazel, Hornbeam and Pedunculate Oak. G3: Hazle, Pedunculate Oak, Goat Willow. G4: Hazel, Goat Willow, Hawthorne. G1: Mixed species group comprising common holly, hazel, hawthorn, wych elm and goat willow. Trim back all mixed vegetation to the kerb line along approximately 50 linear meters. Crown lift two (2) no. goat willow to a height of 2.4 meters to provide suitable clearance for parked vehicles. No additional coppicing or felling is proposed within this area. G2: Mixed species group comprising wych elm, hawthorn, hazel, hornbeam and pedunculate oak. Trim back mixed vegetation to approximately 2.4m height where it is encroaching onto the carriageway to the kerb line over approximately 100 linear meters. Specimen trees will not be touched, and no additional felling or coppicing is proposed within this area. G3: Mixed species group comprising hazel, pedunculate oak and goat willow. This area is of particular concern in relation to site security. Coppice approximately 50% of the hazel to improve light penetration from existing street lighting and to enhance sightlines throughout the area. Trim back overgrown vegetation where it is encroaching onto parking spaces to the kerb line. No works are proposed to specimen trees. G4: Mixed species group comprising hazel, goat willow and hawthorn. Trim back vegetation to the kerb line to improve access to electric vehicle charging points. Remove one snapped limb from the goat willow and carry out a crown lift to approximately 2.4 metres to improve clearance. No additional coppicing or felling is proposed within this area. Necessary for public safety. Overgrown hedges and self-seeded vegetation are restricting visibility, obstructing street lighting and potentially compromising CCTV coverage.
