  See images. The English Yew trees have become an issue. Their appearance of being planted closely together indicates they may have originally been intended as a hedge. The trees have been maintained regularly but the cutting back of them has been subject to restrictions, so they have grown very tall and wide over time. This application is to obtain permission to return them back to a hedge height and width. The issues are as follows: - they are situated very close to and overhang an electrical sub-station - phones lines are threaded through them, so this and the above point may cause risks to infrastructure - the amount of material falling from the trees blocks the property's gutters and drains on a regular basis - the debris from the trees covers the public side road, property driveway and path to the front door which, when wet, can be slippery and of concern for the safety of the occupants, especially an elderly resident, plus occupants of next door and visitors to both properties. We are proposing the Yew Trees are cut to a height of 4m and 2 metres wide. This allows for clearance under the phone cables and room for growth, remove the overhang from the electrical substation, and 50cm on the road side to align with the road edge.

The neighbours in the adjoining property, The Old Rectory in Matford Lane, are supportive of the proposal. Ginko Tree next to and damaging the ancient cob wall between 1 Long Acres and the properties in Wayland Avenue. The Ginko is to be cut down to a height of between 1 and 2 metres to hopefully enable it to regrow but pruned regularly on the wall side of the trunk to train it away from the wall.

  Oak tree on no mans land embankment which over looks garden of 18 Falkland Close, Exeter, EX4 5EZ. It has a large branch overhanging our garden. Tree surgeon Mitchell Tree Surgery has visited site and advised it needs to be removed. He says it is a large overhanging heavy limb which could cause considerable damage. Last year a large branch from a neighbouring oak next to It came down in a storm and caused damage. Our neighbours in number 18 and ourselves are concerned about this particular branch we wish to report to be removed. The tree itself has grown to 60 foot plus range and we all feel our houses are at risk. Sketch plan attached
