Proposal
Tree T20; This tree has 2 low branches which are growing at a curved angle and my tree surgeon expressed concerns that this could lead to instability of the branches as time goes on. The branches are also very heavy, blocking a street lamp and growing over a path which leads from houses to the garages/ parking area. Take branches back approx 6-10 metres (depending on branch) to allow the street lamp to illuminate the pathway for residents. This is the access path from their houses to their garages and is in frequent use. In addition these are potential 'hazard beams' (and can become unstable) due to the angle of growth. Trees T13-18; Are growing over a major public footpath (the trees are on Wellingtonia Park Management Company land), the path is a walkway used by many members of the public, school children and NHS Staff in particular T14 (tree on the left) Take branches overhanging path back 3-6 metres (depending on branch), to behind the 'lower' fence line T15 (on the left) Take branches overhanging path back 3-6 metres approx (depending on branch), to behind the 'lower' fence line T16 (on the left) Take small tree back approx 3-6 metres (depending on branch), to behind the 'lower' fence line

T19 - Fir Tree. Lots of low hanging dead branches that are killing the area around the base of the tree and stopping the tree itself from thriving T20 - Spruce. Remove low level dead branches T21- Monteray Pine. High branches that are growing into the roof area of No 19 Lister Close and if left will be on the roof with the possibility of damage to the property. This is essential tree maintenance work to allow the trees to thrive and grow and prevent damage to property Picture 1 - Shows the pathway and gives an aspect of all 3 trees which we wish to trim Pictures 2, 3 and 4 - Show T 21- Monteray Pine with the branches growing into the adjacent property and our concerns lie that if left the branches will grow across the roof and to the walls and cause property damage (roofs and guttering at least). Pruning of the lateral branches on the property side only to achieve approximately 2-3 metres clearance between the foliage tips and the building, retaining a natural outline. Picture 5 - Shows T 20 - Spruce with many dead branches at the lower level, due, we believe, to the lack of light being allowed through to lower levels by the much taller trees either side. We would propose to only remove all dead, lower branches for the safety of the public (branches dying and falling) and to help the upper limbs thrive better Pictures 6 and 7 - Show T 19 - Fir Tree with lots of dead lower level branches which is allowing ivy and other creepers to grow up the tree, leading to potential wider spread damage. The struggling lower limbs are also not allowing access for gardeners to clear the weeds and undergrowth around the base of the tree. All of the above is hoped to improve the quality of growth of the remaining, healthy branches and to improve appearance. We would hope to lift it by 2.5-3m

T1 - Holm Oak tree with ?Honey fungus? at the base: Pollard at approximately 30 feet high Evidence from myself, Hywel Davies, Consultant for Exe Tree Care Ltd I have had time today (Wednesday 13th December 2023) to inspect the Holm Oak tree at No 1, Lister close, and have some concerns regarding the presence of Honey fungus at the base. I believe that the presence of Honey fungus to the degree seen in the photographic evidence provided is causing root damage/death the therefore undermining the structural integrity of the tree. The tree is also thinning, ie reduced density of foliage, and with dieback present. This is a sign that the roots/vascular tissues are struggling to supply the crown with water/nutrients, most probably due to root death/damage. Due to it's height , weight, and proximity to the house and the main road I am concerned about maintaining the tree in its current form, and think it best to reduce the tree to a pollard, leaving it at approximately 30 feet high. Lower growth can be maintained. Topping cuts will be between approximately, 12, 16 & 18 inch cuts on the three main stems.

I am applying to reduce the face of the line of Evergreen Oaks that make up a hedge at Lister Close identified on the sketch map (scan 09-09-25_2055) as TPO 544. The hedge can be seen in IMG_20250731-092442, IMG_20250731-092546 and IMG_20250731-092413 which also show the extent to which it is encroaching onto the roadside. I am proposing to reduce the face that is encroaching onto the access road and Lamp post by approximately 6 feet (due to cutting back to appropriate pruning points) along the length of the hedge adjoining the roadside which is approximately 22.8m. Pruning the trees back by 6 feet will clear the Lamp post that is currently covered allowing light back onto the access road and also allow more visibility for the vehicles that use the Road. The two pictures attached; IMG_20250731-092506 and IMG_20250731-092425 show the branches making up the face of the hedge. As shown in the photos there are adequate pruning points that could be cut back to that would leave minimal wounds to the branches and plenty of points of new growth.

Magnolia Tree adjacent to wall adjoining the Old Rectory in Matford Lane. The magnolia is to be reduced by appoximately 5 metres to the level of the previous reduction. The neighbours in the adjoining property, The Old Rectory in Matford Lane, are supportive of the proposal. Ginko Tree next to and damaging the ancient cob wall between 1 Long Acres and the properties in Wayland Avenue. The Ginko is to be cut down to a height of between 1 and 2 metres to hopefully enable it to regrow but pruned regularly on the wall side of the trunk to train it away from the wall.

19 Falkland Close Exeter EX4 5EZ
Oak tree on no mans land embankment which over looks garden of 18 Falkland Close, Exeter, EX4 5EZ. It has a large branch overhanging our garden. Tree surgeon Mitchell Tree Surgery has visited site and advised it needs to be removed. He says it is a large overhanging heavy limb which could cause considerable damage. Last year a large branch from a neighbouring oak next to It came down in a storm and caused damage. Our neighbours in number 18 and ourselves are concerned about this particular branch we wish to report to be removed. The tree itself has grown to 60 foot plus range and we all feel our houses are at risk. Sketch plan attached
