Proposal
We have 3 protected trees in our garden: London plane, Lime and Wild cherry. We would like to do: (1) crown reduction (50%) and crown lift (4 metres) of the London plane tree, branches of which are too close to our house, (2) crown reduction (40%) and crown lift (4 metres) of the Lime tree, and (3) crown reduction (40%) and crown lift (4 metres) of the Wild Cherry tree to provide adequate clearance to the property and the garden.

Situated in close proximity to access road and residential property. Appears to have declined significantly since last survey in 2022 - request permission to crown reduce upper crown by up to 3m (30%) and remove all failed limbs. Reduce over extended S/W limb(@ 2m) over footpath by 4m to balance and reduce S/E limb (@4m) over footpath with multiple hazard beams by 4m, to balance and reduce the risk of future failure. The tree is a Cypress tree located at the front of 11 Devonshire place, to the right hand side when looking at the house. We would like to replace the tree with a native tree species - either a rowan or a cherry - in order to provide flowers for pollinators in the spring/summer and food for birds in the winter. We would like to do the removal in late (~Nov) 2026, well after the bird breeding season, in order to plant the new tree in early 2027 after the last frosts. The tree itself sits at the boundary of a conservation area.

The tree is a silver birch. We would like to carry out "crown reduction" reducing the height of the tree from ~10m to ~7m. Similarly, we would like to reduce the spread of the crown at the rear to reduce the amount of overhang with our rear neighbours. We will keep the left-right spread similar, only carrying out "crown thinning" in this respect to ensure the tree does not block too much light from our neighbours' gardens and our own.
