Thuja plicata (T1); Crown height reduction by a maximum of 2.0m. North and eastern crown spread reduction of 1.0m and south and west by 2.0m. Crown lift over the highway to 5.2m (Highways act 1980) with the rest of the canopy lifted to 3.0m above ground level. Prune away from street lamp to achieve 1.0 - 2.0m clearance to improve lighting splay. Maximum diameter of cuts 50mm.

We would like to replace the tree with a native tree species - either a rowan or a cherry - in order to provide flowers for pollinators in the spring/summer and food for birds in the winter. The tree is a silver birch. We would like to carry out "crown reduction" reducing the height of the tree from ~10m to ~7m. Similarly, we would like to reduce the spread of the crown at the rear to reduce the amount of overhang with our rear neighbours. We will keep the left-right spread similar, only carrying out "crown thinning" in this respect to ensure the tree does not block too much light from our neighbours' gardens and our own.
