Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
T1 - Thuya - Lateral stem that has form 2-3 central leaders, and grows nearest the building: Reduce height by 2.5 metres (up to 6inch diameter cuts). Prune the side back from the building by up to 1 metre (approx 2 inch diameter cuts). Reasons - The lever arm on this laterally growing stem is such that a weight reduction is prudent now to prevent risk of future failure.

G1 - Line of 5 Western Red cedar trees - not the final tree on the south eastern side of the line of trees (this was pruned two years ago). 1) Reduce the height of the trees by 20% (approximately 12 feet). Topping cuts made will be between 6-10 inches diameter. Natural target pruning carried out to BS3998 guidelines. Reasons - The line have been reduced in the past. It is not proposed to reduce to the previous growth points because this would affect a 40% reduction, and could effect their vigour and health. - Some lateral branches have formed central leaders and have developed lever arms that may fail in stronger winds. - The sixth tree was reduced two years ago; this would bring the remaining trees to a similar height, and they can then grow together as a group. - Light conditions will be improved for the flats of Glencoe, and the bedding/lawn areas of the rear gardens.

19 Falkland Close Exeter EX4 5EZ
Oak tree on no mans land embankment which over looks garden of 18 Falkland Close, Exeter, EX4 5EZ. It has a large branch overhanging our garden. Tree surgeon Mitchell Tree Surgery has visited site and advised it needs to be removed. He says it is a large overhanging heavy limb which could cause considerable damage. Last year a large branch from a neighbouring oak next to It came down in a storm and caused damage. Our neighbours in number 18 and ourselves are concerned about this particular branch we wish to report to be removed. The tree itself has grown to 60 foot plus range and we all feel our houses are at risk. Sketch plan attached
