There are two trees that need attention: Tree [1] is deciduous magnolia. Tree [2] is a laurel tree What we wish to do: Tree [1] is touching the roof of the house and needs cutting back. Dartmoor tree surgeons have suggested a 'partial crown reduction'. We are looking to remove branches which overhand the roof of the bungalow (the tree's south side of it's canopy) and bang into the roof. Tree [2] is encroaching on tree [1]'s space and is dominating it. We would like to cut a section of this back so that tree [1] has more space / light.

The suggested specification of works affecting Lindon Lodge is:Lowest southern limb, arising at 6m above ground level (AGL) remove lowest secondary branch back to source on parent limb, diameter of cut 100mm; reduce remaining tertiaries by 1.5m, MDC 25mm. The suggested spec of works for the 34 Matford Avenue Garden is Reduce western aspect by 2m, MDC 25mm Reduce southern aspect slightly to contain and reduce loadings on potentially newly exposed limbs by 1.5m, MDC 25mm. Specification across entire canopy Crown lift to 4m above ground level, MDC 25mm Remove major hazardous deadwood T2 - Pine (Conservation Area, no TPO) Prune eastern aspect to achieve a 3m clearance from property and reduce south eastern aspect by 2m, MDC 75mm Remove major hazardous deadwood, remove old brace and install new 4t Cobra bracing system Reason for works T1 - this mature Oak tree is now in contact with Linden Lodge, suggested pruning is necessary to achieve a suitable clearance.
