8 Beechwood Drive Cobham Surrey KT11 2DX
Tree Preservation Order EL:10/07 - Tree: T15 Weeping Willow TPO: EL:10/07 Proposed Works: Remove and replant Pre-Application Ref: 2026/1688 This evidence supports our application to remove and replant T15, the mature Weeping Willow at 8 Beechwood Drive, following the site visit and pre-application advice from Russell Gibbons, Senior Tree Officer. Site Plan Plan attached showing T15 in relation to No.8, neighbouring properties, driveways, footpath and highway. Surface Roots / Damage Photographs show extensive surface roots, raised lawn areas and damage to surrounding surfaces. The roots protrude significantly above ground, making lawn maintenance difficult. Roots have also damaged the driveway at No.7, which has been repaired numerous times, but damage continues to recur. Further root expansion raises concern regarding future damage to the driveway, footpath and highway. Drains Photographs show works undertaken by the water company to repair a drain affected by tree-root intrusion. Outgrown Location The Willow was planted approximately 44 years ago. Photographs demonstrate its considerable size, spread and proximity to houses, footpath and highway. Photographs following previous pruning and current photographs demonstrate the degree and speed of regrowth. Its canopy extends towards/over the footpath and highway and requires regular intervention. Maintenance / Future Growth Substantial pruning is required approximately every 12-18 months at a cost of around 1,000 each time to maintain clearance. This only manages the canopy and cannot address the continuing root-related problems. If left unmanaged, accessibility problems and the potential for further damage would increase. Accessibility The tree and its roots affect access to neighbouring driveways. Of particular concern is No.7, where an elderly family member who uses a wheelchair lives. Root damage has repeatedly disturbed the driveway surface, making wheelchair access more difficult and creating uneven areas and a

11 Esher Place Avenue Esher Surrey KT10 8PU
Tree Preservation Order EL:90/09 - Tree Number 1 on the plan is a London Plane, between 35 and 40 metres tall. It blocks out much of the light in the garden in the morning, and impedes the growth of False Acacia (tree Number 2 below). It has branches protruding over the drive of our neighbour (9 Esher Place Avenue), and also over the road and the verge which has a great deal of pedestrian traffic. We have applied a number of time for permission for a crown reduction, but have only been permitted to do thinning. As a result the tree has continued to grow, and now is at least 15 metres taller than when we bought the house 28 years ago. It is now three times the height of number 9 Esher Place Avenue and is causing our neighbours concern for their personal safety and concern about damage to their property. This is outlined in their attached email. We are concerned about the risk from storms and high winds, particularly if the roots have been weakened by the very dry weather over the last 2 or 3 years. Now we would like permission to do a crown reduction of 5-8 metres and corresponding shaping, to include removal of branches overhanging the verge and road Tree Number 2 is a False Acacia, approximately 20 m tall. This has been crowded out by Trees Numbers 1 and 3. As a result, its limbs have become hyper extended laterally, and particularly towards the house and roof of our neighbours. Limbs are now touching the walls, windows and roof of the house, as well as overhanging their drive. We believe that this is now becoming dangerous as well as intrusive. We therefore wish to be able to reduce the height of the tree by 2 metres and also shorten or remove the lateral branches touching and close to the house of the neighbours. Tree Number 3 is a London Plane, between 35 and 40 metres tall. It has many of the issues described above concerning Tree Number 1. It overshadows our garden and blocks out even more light. And in addition it also has branches growing very close to the h

Raleigh House Watts Road Thames Ditton Surrey KT7 0DB
Tree Preservation Order EL:04/44 - Significant direct root damage and pavement displacement have occurred along the white concrete access road. The roots of mature trees increase in diameter as they grow, exerting vertical pressure that lifts and cracks rigid overlying surfaces. The southern portion of the driveway, adjacent to T001, T002, and T003, shows severe displacement that has historically been patched using asphalt. The northern section, running past T004, T005, and T006, exhibits severe concrete distortion, heaving, and cracking where no asphalt patching has yet been applied. Because the road is concrete, these abrupt vertical transitions have created pedestrian tripping hazards that require engineering remediation.

20 Albany Close Esher Surrey KT10 9JR
Tree Preservation Order EL:89/15 - T1 - Oak - reduce overall by 3m and raise canopy up to 5m by removing secondary branches to leave a finished height of 15m and a finished spread of 9m. The Oak has developed into a large tree for its present location within a relatively confined rear residential garden, with the crown extending in close proximity to the boundary with the neighbouring property. The proposed works are intended to manage the tree's overall size and crown dimensions in relation to its setting, while retaining its contribution to the local amenity. The proposed work will maintain the tree at a more appropriate scale for its location and will provide greater clearance from the neighbouring property and improve the relationship between the tree and the surrounding residential garden environment. The works are intended as a proportionate management measure rather than removal of the tree, allowing the oak to be retained while reducing its current size and encroachment within a confined residential setting.
