Proposal

East Molesey Kent Town Conservation Area - Fell three Leylandii near the rear boundary of garden labels T1,T2, and T3 on Sketch Plan. These grow in a row with a cedar, two bays and two yews and are crowding out the other more choice trees. Fell three Lawson Cypress near the west side boundary labels T4, T5, and T6 on the Sketch Plan. These were planted many years ago as hedging but are now overly tall, near the end of their lives and could prove dangerous as overhanging branches break. Fell on Leylandii growing near the west side boundary T7 on the Sketch Plan. This has grown very large and its roots threaten the foundations of the garage. Reduce height of Leylandii on east side boundary by approximately 6 meters, marked T8 on the Sketch Plan. This tree has been reduced in height in the past. Reduce height of another Leylandii on east side boundary by approximately 6 meters, marked T9 on the Sketch Plan. This tree has been reduced in height in the past and is now touching the roof of No 9. Reduce height of a Leylandii hedge on west side boundary by approximately 6 meters, marked T10 on the Sketch Plan.

The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.
