  • T/26/101661 Granted

    51 EAST DRIVE, BISHOPSTOKE, EASTLEIGH, SO50 6FS

2no. Oak - Reduce the lower crown of the trees overhanging the garden by up to 3m and by between 3-5m where they overhang the neighbouring gardens to abate nuisance. To manage canopy density and restore ecological balance to the domestic amenity space. Selective thinning and minor lateral reduction aim to increase ambient light filtration through the canopy. Will alleviate the heavy shade on the garden, ensuring the survival and growth of surrounding flora while fully maintaining overall structural integrity, health, and prominent public amenity value of the oak trees. 1no. Fir - Reduce all over by no more than 1-2m. Growing in close proximity between two mature oak trees, resulting in canopy crowding and mutual suppression. Developed an over-extended and unbalanced lateral spread, which is impacting the form of the adjacent oaks. Work involves a sympathetic crown lift and lateral reduction to define its form, reduce immediate structural footprint, and prevent it from encroaching further into the canopy of the higher-amenity oak trees. Will restore balance to the group dynamic and ensure the long-term vitality of all three specimens. 1no. Birch - Fell. Initial proposal for a crown reduction is no longer appropriate or viable. Tree has suffered significant structural failure, main apical leader having already snapped off. Is heavily suppressed beneath the dominant canopy of the adjacent mature oak trees, resulting in an excessive structural lean. Felling is requested on safety grounds and to optimize the growing environment for the high-value oak trees. Removing this compromised specimen will alleviate localized competition for root volume, soil nutrients, and moisture, thereby actively supporting the long-term health and vitality of the dominant oaks.

    12 MALCOLM ROAD, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 5BG

1no. Beech (T1) - Crown reduction by up to 3m from branch tips throughout the crown, maintaining natural shape and balanced form. Removal of dead, diseased, damaged and crossing branches where appropriate. 1no. Oak (T2) - Crown reduction by up to 3.5m from branch tips throughout the crown, with particular attention to reducing the lateral spread towards property while maintaining the tree’s natural shape and balanced form. Removal of dead, diseased, damaged and crossing branches where appropriate. T1 & T2 have reached maturity and now have extensive crowns, measuring approx. 18m and 16m in spread respectively. The size and density of the canopies result in significant overshadowing of the rear garden and rear elevation of the property, substantially reducing natural daylight and limiting the reasonable enjoyment and use of the garden. T2 is situated approx. 4m from the rear elevation of the property and, because of its proximity, has a greater impact on daylight reaching both the house and the immediate garden area. A slightly greater crown reduction is requested to improve light penetration while retaining its natural form, health and amenity value. The proposed works represent sympathetic management of two mature trees and are intended to maintain them as healthy, structurally sound specimens in accordance with BS3998:2010.

49 VICTORIA ROAD, NETLEY ABBEY, SOUTHAMPTON, SO31 5DQ

1no. Unspecified Species - Remove. Tree has grown into the garage and parking area serving the neighbouring properties . Should the tree remain in place, it will require regular professional maintenance, including pruning to prevent further encroachment into neighbouring land and the garage area. Given the size and location of the tree, this work would likely need to be carried out on a recurring basis, potentially every year. Unfortunately, the ongoing cost of such maintenance is not something we can reasonably afford in the long term. The tree is causing several issues. Prevents from installing a secure boundary fence along the rear of the garden. This leaves the rear of the property open and accessible from the neighbouring garage area, creating an ongoing security concern. There is evidence that a brick boundary wall previously existed in this location. The remaining sections of wall and the position of the tree suggest that its growth has contributed to the wall's collapse over time. The tree is also heavily covered with ivy, which has become increasingly difficult to manage. The ivy is now spreading into neighbouring properties and the adjoining garage area, creating maintenance issues and obscuring the condition of the tree itself. We believe that tree's removal is the most appropriate and practical long-term solution.

The tree has begun to extend over the property and is in close proximity to the dwelling. Reduction will provide appropriate clearance from the building while maintaining the tree's health, structural integrity, and natural appearance. 5 SYDNEY ROAD, BISHOPSTOKE, EASTLEIGH, SO50 6DJ

1no. Silver Birch (T1) - On the side facing the house and garden a reduction of 2m to remove the branches that touch the roofs. On the side facing the road a reduction of 1.5m in order to clear the street light. 1no. Norwegian Spruce (T2) - Reduction of 1m all round, maintaining the present shape. 1no. Norwegian Spruce (T3) - Reduction of 1.5m on the southern side facing the telegraph pole to disentangle the branches from the phone lines. On the side facing the road a reduction of 1m maintaining the current shape of the tree. The branches of T1 are resting on roof of garage and house, potentially leading to the dislodging of roof tiles and consequent leaks. Branches are fouling the streetlight on Sydney Road and the telephone lines from the telegraph pole adjacent to house. T2 and T3 are fouling the telephone lines from the telegraph pole and the weight of the lower branches is resting on the telephone line to the house. All 3 trees are looking very heavy due to shallowness of their roots. To conduct routine maintenance on the trees within property's curtilage. They have grown very large since last pruned several years ago, do not want them to fall and cause damage or harm through lack of appropriate care.

LAUREL CORNER, 1a LAKEWOOD ROAD, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 1ER

1no. Fir Tree (T1) - Crown reduction by up to 1.5m throughout the outer crown, with all pruning cuts made back to suitable natural growth points to restore and maintain a balanced, natural crown form. The leading growth has developed a lean towards the adjacent property, resulting in an unbalanced crown structure. Reduction will reduce end-weight on the affected side and encourage the development of a more balanced crown, helping the tree to maintain an upright growth habit. The works are intended to support the tree's long-term health, stability, and retention within the landscape. Pruning is proportionate and will not adversely affect the tree's amenity value.
