1no. Weeping Willow - Remove the crown entirely (see picture 4) and cut back the lower branches to a max length of approx 3m, similar to picture 5. Tree has already lost two large branches (see photos 1 & 2) and is showing further signs of weakness. Tree was subject of a previous application NC/23/94510; outcome was “Raise No Objection.” One of the two trees in that application suffered a major loss of a limb last summer leading to emergency pollarding. (See picture 5). With the other tree having similar characteristics, including a very large branch reaching over the drive (see picture 3), we believe it would be appropriate to reduce the second tree in a similar way to the first one.

The trees are becoming overpowering in the garden and reduction will improve the gardens aspect and have little impact on the health of the trees. The recommended reduction will maintain the trees to their surroundings. We have consulted Hands in Nature about this work.
