Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
1no. Ash (T1) – Remove and replant with suitable standard-sized native species. Tree is showing significant symptoms of ash dieback, with approx. 40% of crown exhibiting dead or declining growth. The extent of decline and associated deterioration means retention is no longer considered a suitable long-term management option. Removal is to address declining condition. Replacement planting with appropriate native species is recommended to maintain tree cover and provide a suitable long-term replacement for amenity lost through removal.

1no. Copper Beech (T1, originates from 72 Hursley Road) - Remove lowest limb over hanging the garden play area of no. 74 back to boundary. Large branch has small bark inclusion in union and is overhanging a child play area, removal of single limb would give sufficient clearance over play area and give peace of mind to the occupant of number 74 in regards to safety of their children.

1no. Silver Birch (T1) - Fell to ground level due to poor physiological state of the tree which has been occurring over the last four years. There is no reasonable reduction of the crown possible that would prolong the life of the tree as tree is unlikely to respond well to pruning. Replant with another Birch.

1no. Oak (T1, originating from no. 24 Thornbury Wood, SO53 5DQ) - Reduce lateral limbs extending over garden and towards property by approx. 2.5m to even up the tree and provide a natural and balanced shape. Majority of branches are to the Southeast side of tree. Pruning will be carried out back to natural growth points to improve light levels within garden and minimise overhang towards house, while preserving the tree's overall form and health.
