Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

T1 Sycamore. Multi-stemmed tree. Central limb significantly decayed at base - approx 1/3rd of radial thickness of stem remains as sound wood when probed. When examined with a nylon mallet, resonance was typical of a hollowing cavity. Application is to remove central, decayed stem to origin at approx 1.5m from ground. This stem is approx 400mm diameter. Surrounding, remaining 4 stems are between approx 600-800mm diameter. Other defects, decay and atypical morphology exist around the base of the tree. A further survey is scheduled for when the tree is in leaf to establish physiological health. Cobra bracing is to be installed in the Spring. Deadwood above 25mm to be removed.

T1 Sycamore- remove 3 epicormic stems at the base of the tree (approx diameter 10 cms each) Reduce central top height of the tree by 2 meters and reshape the crown all around. Reasons- the tree has not been worked on for some time and it is cutting out light at the back of the property and for other properties in the vicinity. It is a very tall tree for the confined space that it is in.
