Proposal
We are looking to improve our garden by way of installing a new fence up the west side of our property. The most northerly part of our border is in the form of an hawthorn hedge/bush and holly bush. This portion of the border is very unsightly and has grown in a hap-hazard fashion (i.e. has massive gaps at the base so as not providing a adequate barrier / border into the adjacent field). The fact the both these plants have spikey foliage also prevents a worrying problem as we have two children under 3 years of age. My wife is currently 38 years old and remembers this hedge not existing when she was young (approximately 7-10 years of age).

Trees to the north of the property, south side of the river bank. G1: Trim back trees along the laterally wall to maintain clearance for vehicles. Trimming back to wall and approximately 3m high. G1.1: Trees in this section are forming more of a hedge structure. Reduce in height to approximately 5m in this smaller section to prevent hedge from growing too tall. T1: Alder. Re-pollard to previous pollard points due to the re-growth becoming very long and spindly, and also growing northeast toward neighboring properties.
