Trees within the garden appear to be covered by Amber Valley Conservation Area. Two trees which require work are also covered by TPOs from Derby City Council under TPO 43. 0904 Lime Remove tree due to hollow rotten stem [TPO 43] 1599 Beech Crown reduction of 3m (south east biased) [TPO 43] 0910 Alder Reduce crown by 4m to reduce leverage [CA] 0914 Alder Crown reduction of 2m [CA] 1577 Contorted willow Remove due to sparse canopy and early signs of decline [CA] 1588 Lime Formative pruning (removing young crossing branches) [CA] 1590 Weeping willow - left canopy over pound. [CA] Recommended planting will certainly be discussed with the client, especially due to the loss of the lime tree (0904) as this will leave an open space within the wooded area.

Further to my conversation with Fergus, DCC Tree Officer, I propose a 2m crown reduction to the Goat Willow (marked with a blue line on the attached plan) and the removal of the conifer (marked with a yellow line on the attached plan) The reason being that a tree in this location was blown over across the public footpath and damaged our neighbours property. The trees are in falling distance of our house, the neighbours house and the public footpath. The tree officer advised that a crown reduction would reduce the chance of the willow being blown over. We are retaining a large number of trees along the boundary and the proposed work does not adversely impact amenity. Additionally, we note our intention to remove any branches on any of the trees along our boundary that obstruct the public footpath up to a height of 2.4m above the footpath and any branches that obstruct our driveway, up to 2.4m above ground level.

Remove all dead branches off all trees. Line of sycamores and hazels on property boundary to be reduced using in line cuts. Hawthorn, Holly and Goat Willow to be unaltered Property is at the edge of a Conservation Area. Reason for work - health and safety reasons given the trees overhang a public footpath. Additionally, excessive height of the trees causing overshading. See Site Pan attached. Green area - 8 sycamore stems and one hazel to be reduced 3-4 metres using in-line cuts. Yellow area - 3 multi stemmed sycamores and one hazelto be reduced 4-5 metres using in-line cuts White area - 2 multi stemmed sycamores to be reduced 3-5 metres using in-line cuts
