This shall involve pitching the blades to 90 degrees and/or rotating the blades parallel to the wind direction to reduce the blade rotation speed below two revolutions per minute while idling.

An application to discharge Condition No. 4 of enforcement appeal decision 2022/E0057 Condition 4 states: Within three months of the date of this decision, software shall be installed into the control system of the turbine and retained thereafter for the lifespan of the turbine to ensure the effects of shadow flicker on any occupied property does not exceed the allowances set out in the Best Practice Guidance to PPS 18, that being not more than 30 hours per year or 30 minutes per day. Evidence that the shadow flicker mitigation software has been installed shall be submitted to the Council within three months of this decision for approval in writing.
