What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with Wolverhampton for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About this record
Reading the register
This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that Wolverhampton is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.
Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.

8 Castlecroft Gardens Wolverhampton West Midlands WV3 8LN
The application is to remove three tall leylandii trees (indicated as 1,2,3 on the sketch plan) which are situated at the far end of the back garden. Permission is required because the property is in Castlecroft Gardens which is a designated Conservation Area. Removal of the trees would provide space to erect a small shed for which I have already obtained local authority permission. Furthermore the trees are unsightly, block sunlight from the rest of the garden and might also pose a potential hazard of being blown over in high winds. Laurel bushes have already been planted beyond the trees to form a screening hedge in time. The work to be carried out has been discussed with Clifford Webb who visited the site on 4th November 2025.
