87 Compton Road Wolverhampton West Midlands WV3 9QH
Proposal
06/00261/TPO (T40 - Beech - Crown lift by the removal of secondary branches only to provide a vertical clearance of 5.5 metres above the carriageway of Compton Road and 4.5 metres in all other instances. Remove the long over extended limb the is growing in a southerly in line with the boundary between 87 and 89 Compton Road back to the main stem. Crown reduce the lower (up to a height of approx. 6.5 metres) lateral branches that overhang the driveway of 87 Compton Road, back to an appropriate pruning point by no more than 1 third of their existing length. Remove one of the lower lateral limbs that are currently rubbing on each other, back to the first available pruning point before the point of rubbing. Crown thin the upper canopy up to a maximum canopy volume of 15%, prioritising the removal of any rubbing, duplicated, over extended or otherwise arboriculturally unsuitable branches back to the first available appropriate pruning point to ensure the healthy and well balanced canopy.

What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
