Proposal
1. Replace deteriorating and eroding bricks in one of the walls of the cellar (Wall A) with bricks of a high water absorption and using lime mortar. The replacement bricks and mortar will be in accordance with the Specification for Repairs to the Existing Cellar prepared by Paul Tanner of Marbas (attached). 2. To the extent possible, repair the existing damp roof course at the base of a timber post forming part of Wall A. 3. Repoint straight joint of bricks in Wall A near the junction of Wall A with the front wall of the house. 4. Place a new beam below the joists and on the interior side of the solid oak plate which new beam will be supported by posts on each side of the window and placed clear of the front wall by 75mm or more.
