Proposal
Connifer (Chamaecyparis) shown on WWC public view map as only tree in the garden of 15 The Hall Way. We would like to fell the tree on account of its close proximity to (and towering over) our home. We believe that there is a serious risk of it falling or breaking, particularly with the high wind and lack of shelter, onto our home causing damage and potential risk of serious injury/ loss of life to the occupants. We are in the process of redeveloping our garden and have already planted 2 trees at the boundary- ie away from the house. We are happy to replant a tree, to replace the conifer, which is of less risk to our property and more in-keeping with the location. Mr McIndoe has made some suggestions (see attached tree report) but we are happy to be guided by the tree officer.

Lime Tree TPO 1474T5, crown lifted ~10 years ago and has now grown to a substantial size over hanging half my lawned garden and into the public car park of the Littleton Memorial Hall. The arborist (Hampshire Heartwood) recommend pollarding the tree due to size. This will bring it in line with other lime trees in this road that have been pollarded by other owners.

Suggestion is to shorten damaged limbs and branches as appropriate to their lengths and amount of damage to reduce the risk of failure. Estimated reduction is maximum 3m but less if safe to do so & leaving decent growth points. 1 limb recently broke & fell into owners garden & the climbing inspection was undertaken & the damage was highlighted.
