What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About heritage and listed buildings applications

How this application type works

Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.

2 yew trees (YT1 & YT2) to be cut down by tree surgeon. YT1 in my own garden, YT2 in adjacent garden (84 Main Road, Hursley, SO212JY). Both trees are now very large, and root system poses a risk to foundations of adjacent houses and garages. Also, the trees drop yew berries, which are poisonous if consumed by children and dogs. We feel that these trees are therefore hazardous, and should be removed by a qualified tree surgeon. Access to cut down both trees is possible via the Old Court House. Smaller more manageable trees will be planted in their place.
