Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

T1185 - Laurocerasus lusticanica (Portugal Laurel): Lift low canopy, pedestrian clearance - to 2.5 m over footpath. T1184 - Syringa vulgaris (Common Lilac): Fell coppice - due to secondary stem failure at 0.4 m exposing hollow in remaining stem. To prevent failure onto parked cars. Basal epicormic growth suggests coppice regeneration will establish well. T1157 - Cotoneaster sp. (Tree Cotoneaster): Reduce crown by specified extent - reducing the extension growth over the road edge by around 1 m to maintain hyways clearance.

T229: Massaria Climbing Inspection report shows early stage Massaria on a large limb removal required. T370: RVL necessary 3 months - large branch at 15m SE approx. 8m in length and 300mm in diameter. T381: RVL necessary 3 months - Massaria large limb at 8m SW approx. 10m out on lateral limb 6m in length, 200mm diameter, Also large limb at 7m NW 4.5m, 200mm in diameter, Also large limb at 16m NW over road 4m length, 200mm diameter T721: RVL necessary 3 months - Massaria limb at 9m, S, 5m length and approx 300mm diameter T728: RS00 necessary 3 months ? heavily reduce the large Massaria affected limb at 7m NE (the end of the long lateral branch alongside the pavement) by approx. 3.5 m to reduce loading and stabilise the limb allowing for further monitoring to evaluate the extent of development. T743: RS00 necessary 3 months ? reducing the extended terminal branches on the limb with the cavity at 15m to the west, and the large branch at 15m NE 150mm diameter, by approximately 2 m, to reduce loading on the decayed limb cavities, to minimise the potential for major limb failure within the garden square. T889: RL00 necessary 3 months ? reducing the terminal branches growing from the large limb at 10m N (with a cavity within the wound) 8m length 150mm, by approx. 2 m to reduce loading and minimise the potential for limb failure due to decay and cavities present. T921: RVL necessary 3 months - Large branch at 7m NE 4m in length and 450mm diameter attached beneath main union of tree. T230 - Platanus x hispanica (London Plane): Reduce faulted limb(s) - reducing the lowest limb to the north (attached at around 4 m) by approximately 7 m, retaining the two prominant branches (attached at around 2.5 and 3.5 m out from the primary union), due to significant decay and hollowing evidenced during recent decay investigations (see attached report). The second branch from the main union (at around 3.5 m), ascends and should form the new terminal section of the limb. Both retained branches should be left intact.

2 x London planes (T889 and T892): Reduce crown by specified extent - reducing the tips of the lower and mid lateral branches over the road, to the most recent previous reduction points or suitable growth points no closer to the tree than in line with the centre of the carriageway. Retain selected furnishing growth at pruning points to maintain a flowing canopy outline and to minimise visual impact. Maximum diameter of final cuts to be no greater than 4 cm.

T889 & T892 - Platanus x hispanica: Reduce crown by specified extent - At the request of GLM, in consideration of resident complaints and the cost of regular pruning work, and the crown imbalance from previous pruning, crown reduction has been recommended to the following specification. Reduce the crown height by 2.5 - 3 m and the lateral crown spread by 1 - 1.5 m to the southeast over the road, and the remaining crown spread by 2.5 - 3 m, to address the current crown imbalance and form a smaller crown framework that will accommodate regrowth within the previously agreed proportions overhanging the road, whilst allowing for the re-formation of a natural crown aesthetic. Final cuts should be made at suitable pruning points, leaving furnishing growth to minimise visual impact where possible.
